Creating an Import or Export (Impex) Job

The ability to import and export data from Asset Vision is a helpful tool when working with information outside of the application. After an export has been saved as a template (Export Plan), it can be used again and again in an Impex Job. An Impex Job can be run manually at any time, or scheduled to run automatically to import or export the data you need.

Create a new Job

The Import/Export Jobs menu allows you to view existing Impex Jobs, based on the PAD server that performs the job. From this view you can Edit the job, or select Run Job to start a manually start a scheduled or manual Impex Job.

To create a new Impex Job, start by navigating to Setup >> Import/Export >> Configuration >> Import/Export Jobs. Then click New. The New Impex Base Job window will appear.

  5. Import/Export Plan: Select the Import/Export Plan to be used for the Impex Job.
Note: The type of plan selected will determine whether the job is an Import Job or Export Job. For example, if an Import Plan is selected, then the job will be an Import Job.
  6. Worksheet: Optional. Provide the worksheet name if the file is/will be a spreadsheet.
  7. Schedule: Specify schedule type and configuration parameters or leave as none to leave as a manual-only job.
