Users are able to use the Global Search feature by entering their query in the search box located next to the Home icon. The syntax used to make queries is Apache Lucene. More information about this query parser syntax can be found here.

1. After the user enters their query, the Result Categories column in the left-hand side of the page will show data views with data that match the query. The user can click on any of these data views to preview them in the center of the page.
