How to Create a Field Set

Field Sets in Asset Vision data views help the data appear in a more structured way for ease of use and readability, and improve organization of displayed information related to a selected field. The user can also modify and augment the form data grouping based on defaults and custom named containers and objects.

Field Sets are visible whenever the user chooses to edit a record in a data view:

Editing the record then drills down into details about the object selected. In many cases under the Overview tab, the information is displayed using Field Sets, logical groupings of the data. These groupings can be expanded or collapsed to better display the more pertinent data.

Access Field Set configuration

As stated before, although most data views already have default field sets, the defaults can be modified, or new field sets can be created. This is done by modifying the structure of a data view.

  1. Open an existing data view and click Edit Structure.
  2. In the Data view structure modification window, click the "Field Sets" tab.
