How to Create or Amend an Android Device Profile
This lesson details how Android device configuration profiles are created and amended within Asset Vision. It concentrates on how to navigate the various profiles.
Create a new Android Device Profile
Navigate to Client Manager > Devices > Profiles > Android.
This display list the configuration profiles that have been defined to Asset Vision. The columns have the following meaning:
- Name: Name of the profile.
- Description: A more detailed description of the profiles.
- Unique Identifier: An automatically generated unique identifier for the profile.
To create a new profile, select New.
Fill Out Profile Information
The left-hand panel indicates which of the configuration payload types is the current focus of the settings. Upon entry, the general payload is selected.
- Add the profile name.
- A meaningful description.
- Select Save when finished.
Fill Out Security Information
- Selecting another profile payload, you will be prompted as to whether you want to start configuration.
- Select Configure to start configuration of this payload.
It is possible to configure several payloads within a single configuration profile. Each payload configured, before the whole profile is saved, will be identified with a red asterisk (*)
- Multiple payloads can be configured. Again, you can see the red asterisk, and the asterisk from the previous payload settings
- When you are finished, press Save, and you will be taken back to the profile list
