How to Setup a Google Directory Scan Job
This lesson will explain how to setup a Google Directory scan job in Asset Vision. The Google Directory scan job utilizes Asset Vision's Google Directory probe which can gather data from Chromebooks.
Add Google Directory Credentials
Navigate to Client Manager > Discovery Setup > Credentials > Manage. This data view shows all of the credential records. Credentials are needed for probes to gather data. To use the Google Directory probe, you will need to enter Google Directory credentials.
- Click New.
Enter Google Directory Credential Information
- Enter the information for the Google Directory Credentials record:
- User name: Google Directory user name.
- PAD stored: Whether the credentials will be stored on the PAD server.
- parent PAD: PAD server that will use the credentials to access devices within its IP range. You should choose a PAD server that has a Connected status.
- description: A meaningful description for the Google Directory credentials record.
2. Click the link, Click to Authorize. You must authorize your Google Directory credentials.
Authorize Google Directory Credentials
Login to your Google Directory account if you are not already logged in.
- Click Allow to allow Scalable Asset Vision to have access.
Save Google Directory Credentials
An information window will pop up and inform you that you have authorized Google Directory credentials.
- Click OK.
- Click Save.
Create a New Google Directory Scan Job
Navigate to Client Manager > Scan Job > Manage. This data view shows the scan jobs.
- Click New.
- Choose Google Directory Discovery from the drop down menu.
Enter Google Directory Attributes
First you will need to enter your Google Directory attributes.
- Enter Google Directory domain name.
- Enter user name.
- Click Next.
Add Schedule
- Select the desired Scan Window, or leave as Default if you would like for the scans to run at any time. For more information see Setting up a Scan Window.
- Pick the desired Schedule Type for the scan job.
- Check Enabled if you want to enable the scan job to run as scheduled once you save and finish the wizard.
- Select the Time Zone and Time. Note that the time zone will be saved in GMT/UTC time.
- Configure remaining options (Day of week:, Run on:, Repeat every:, etc.)
- Click Next.
Review and Implement
- Enter a meaningful Scan Job Name.
- Select a PAD server to run the job.
- Click either Save and Run to save the job and run it immediately or Save and Finish to save the job and run it on schedule later.
