E-Mail

Asset Vision uses email notifications to alert admins to changing conditions within the estate, as well as provide reports for desired data. To help clarify the origin of the notifications, the FROM: address may be specified. This will also provide some context to the type of email that is being sent.

The E-mail Settings provides the ability to optionally configure two main parts of the "From:" address of an e-mail sent by Asset Vision.

  • Address Suffix
  • Address Domain

Either or both of the parts may be configured. The E-mail Settings UI helps provide information during the configuration.

  1. Current E-mail From Address Example: - This is the "From:" e-mail address that is used by Asset Vision before any changes are made and saved in the current session of this UI.
  2. E-mail From Address Suffix: - Info entered here will be appended as a suffix to what ever Asset Vision component is generating the e-mail:
    • Dashboard
    • Layouts
    • Alerts
  3. E-mail From Address Domain: - Info entered here will be used as the "@domain" for the "From:" Asset Vision e-mail.
  4. Proposed E-mail From Address Example: This is a preview of what the "From:" address will look like. It will update real-time as the option items above are modified.

For example, "[email protected]" is and example of an account reserved within an organization for sending is e-mails from Asset Vision. Setting the two items above:

  • The "Address Suffix" option to "_avadmin"
  • The "Address Domain" to "company.com"

would result in the "From:" address of an Alert e-mail from Asset Vision to be "[email protected]".
