Advanced - Setting up a Scan Window

Asset Vision gives you the ablility to set a scan schedule to fit your organizational needs. In addition to setting up a scan schedule type (daily, weekly, or monthly), you can configure when scans are allowed to run, stop, or even pause and continue from where it left off.  This can all be done within Scan Window configuration.

Note: Scan Windows work in conjunction with Scan Schedules, which can be configured during a Scan Job setup. Therefore, a schedule will run within the bounds of a Scan Window, and vice versa. Scan Window times are in UTC only, and are not affected by Scan Schedule Time Zone Offset configurations.

Configuring a Scan Window

To start with, a Scan Window can be configured in either one of two places:

  • While configuring a Scan Job, under the Add Schedule tab.
  • In the Scan Windows interface under Discovery Setup >> Scan Windows.

Typically, Scan Windows would be configured in the Scan Window interface.
