Asset Vision® Overview
This lesson provides a brief overview of Asset Vision. Follow the links included in the steps below to view more detailed product information.
In the absence of robust, agile software asset management tools, organizations waste a significant amount of their IT funding each year on unneeded license procurement and maintenance agreements for unused licenses.
Asset Vision is an innovative, unified Cloud-based IT Cost Optimization solution.
Below is an overview of Asset Vision's main sections:
- Home: Provides a customizable personalized starting point that presents dashboards and reports relevant to the logged-on user. It can also server as a launching pad to other parts of the product.
- Devices: Contains different dashboards and reports focused on hardware assets in the environment that have been discovered by Asset Vision. Provides information regarding inventory and usage of discovered and metered devices.
- Software: Information regarding software and web applications discovered by Asset Vision can be found in the Software section. These dashboards and reports provide physical and virtual software usage and licenseable inventory information, and allow management of software license and entitlements, all stored securely in the Asset Vision database.
- Services: Reports in this section show information about installed and running services that are discovered during an Asset Vision scan. Database, Hypervisor, and other services on multiple operating system types are detected, allowing for additional licensing metrics that application discovery alone cannot provide.
- Users: Provides Information regarding discovered users, as well as users who have used assets and applications in the organization.
- Reports: The Reports tab provides a central location where most common and popular reports are stored. New reports that are provided by Scalable Software will appear here when available after each release.
- Custom Links: Provides a central location where all customer customizations will reside.
