NEW for February 2020
New Windows Desktop Agent
In this release of Asset Vision, there is a new Windows Desktop Agent which extends existing agent capabilities and brings efficient enhancements, taking advantage of new Windows technologies. For the next few releases, Asset Vision will be presenting this new agent download along side the previous agent, allowing ample time for organizations to run the new agent in their local sandbox before rolling it out production-wide. For more information about the new agent, visit the Agent Installation and Management in Help.
New Windows Server Agent
Asset Vision introduces a new Windows Server Agent, designed specifically for server-centric purposes. As user activity is generally not critical in a server-environment, the Windows Server Agent removes the usage component of our Desktop agent, making the agent even more lightweight, allowing for more server-focused features such as Service Dependency tracking and hardware utilization monitoring. For more information regarding the Windows Server Agent, and to make it available in your instance, please contact your Account Manager at Scalable Software, or reach out to Scalable Support.
Expanded Support for Office 365 Web Application Usage
Since we released expanded support for complex Web Applications like Office 365 and Google Docs, Microsoft has made some changes with the way that web-based resources are made available. We have enhanced our pre-defined Office 365 Web App definitions so that usage of these updated resource definitions will be available without manual modification by the user. For more information, visit the Complex Web App updates article in Help.
