Devices Overview
Asset Vision Devices provides reporting on inventory, usage, location tracking and other information for discovered devices and endpoints, allowing you to access actionable data and gather intelligence on your estate and its components.
- Discovered Devices - Information regarding discovered workstations, servers, cloud-based devices, thin-clients, printers, and monitors.
- Device Usage - Analysis and reporting on utilization metrics provided by agents installed on supported devices.
- Asset Acquisition - Input, store and track purchase information regarding hardware in the enterprise.
- Asset Tracking - Allocate hardware assets to groups and locations defined within Asset Vision, and track hardware through its life cycle.
Clicking on the Registry tab in Asset Vision displays a summary of side menu items:
Discovered Devices: Analyze auto discovered hardware
- Access the automatically populated IT asset register of hardware.
- Create reports that analyze computers, network devices, virtualization infrastructure, printers, and much more.
Device Usage: Provide utilization metrics
- Report on usage and logon information from agent-tracked devices.
- Identify usage from virtual and physical devices.
Asset Acquisition: Review acquisition data
- Verify and reconcile acquisition data based on asset inventory.
- Review related purchase information of discovered devices.
Asset Tracking: Allocate and track ownership
- Allocate and track item ownership, status, location and class.
- Move items into their correct statuses.
- Quickly identify unreconciled asset data.
- Manage IP Range to physical Location mappings.
- Review automatically determined warranty status.
Discovered Devices
The Discovered Hardware menu allows users to review hardware discovered in their environment such as mobile devices, workstations, and servers. The user is provided detailed information for each device in the dataviews under the side menus. Examining the information in these data views allows the user to gain a better understanding of the assets in their environment.
Clicking on the Discovered tab under the Registry tab in Asset Vision displays a summary of side menu items:
Mobile Devices: Tablet and smart phones
- Details of Smart phones and Tablets that have been discovered by Asset Vision | Manage or imported from other mobile device management tools.
Workstations: Laptops and desktops
- All Windows, macOS and Linux workstations discovered.
- Physical and virtual devices and all device attributes.
Servers: Physical and virtual servers
- All Windows, macOS, Linux, Solaris, AIX and HP-UX servers discovered.
- Physical and virtual machines and all device attributes.
Hypervisors: Virtualization infrastructure
- Maps the virtualization infrastructure for ESX and Hyper-V.
- Virtual to physical relationships and VM movement history for ESX clusters.
- Licensing details for vCenter managed environments.
Peripherals: Monitors and printers
- Detailed information on monitors and local printers attached to workstations.
Cloud Devices: AWS and Azure Devices
- Discover reserved devices hosted in cloud-based estates
- AWS and Azure device inventory and performance with existing
Thin Clients: Zero and Thin Client Appliances
- View hardware and software information related to discovered thin client endpoints and appliances.
Networking: Network devices
- Discovered network devices including routers, switches and wifi base stations.
Printers: Local and network printers
- Details on local and network printers, including usage information.
Other Devices: VIOP phones and unclassified
- Discovered VOIP phones and other devices currently unclassified.
Device Usage
Usage Summary: Usage summarized by used device.
Usage Analysis: Hourly analysis of average usage by minutes per hour.
Device Logons: Logon details by physical device.
Virtual Device Logons: Logon details by virtual device.
Asset Acquisition
The Asset Acquisition menu allows users to import and store information relating to aquired assets such as purchase orders, invoices, ASNs and barcodes. The user is then able to validate the imported acquisition data by associating the purchase orders with invoices and ASNs. By doing this the user is able to identify exceptions between these sources of data. The user can also examine warranty status by reviewing the automatically populated warranty information.

Reconcile Acquisition Data: Allocate and track ownership
- Validate imported acquisition data. Reconcile POs with Invoices with ASNs.
- Quickly identify exception conditions.
Asset Tracking
The Asset Tracking menu allows users to allocate discovered items such as computers to a user or a department. The user is then able to track these items by reviewing information such as status and location. By doing this the user is fully aware of their environment and can identify any unnecessary or high risk assets.

Allocate Items: Allocate items in the register
- Allocate items in the register to owners.
- Identify those items currently unallocated.
- Manage item status.
Asset Register: Allocate and track ownership
- Track ownership of all items by various attributes such as scan location, owner location, department, status etc.
Location Management: Manage IP to Location Mapping
- Import and normalize locations.
- Map IP Ranges to physical locations.
- View mapped IP ranges on an interactive Google Maps component.
Warranty Status: Analyze warranty status
- Access the automatically populated warranty information.
- Quickly determine warranty status for supported manufacturers.
