Configure the Chrome OS Agent

Asset Vision works with Google G Suite and devices enrolled with the Google Admin Console to install an agent that provides application window run-time metrics. Once properly configured via Google Admin Console, the agent is installed automatically when a user logs into a Chrome OS device with a G Suite account. The Chrome OS Agent consists of two parts:

  • An Agent Application - This is the main agent, responsible for tracking window open time for applications used on a Chrome OS device.
  • An Agent Extension - This is an extension necessary to track Web Apps through the Chrome browser on a Chrome OS device.

Installation of the Chrome OS Agent and subsequent instructions assumes that your organization uses G Suite and requires:

  • A G Suite account through your organization
  • Administrative access to your organization's Google Admin Console

The following steps will guide you on configuring Google Admin Console to automatically install the Asset Vision Chrome OS Agent Application and Agent Extension. This lesson to be performed by a G SuiteAdministrator within your organization.
