How to Group Devices

Asset Vision allows you to assign devices to custom groups. This lesson explains how to add new groups and assign devices to groups.

Navigate to a menu that lists devices, such as Registry > Discovered Hardware > Chromebooks.

  1. Right-click the device record you want to assign to a group.
  2. Click Track > Allocation Item to a Group.

  1. Click the check box next to the group you want to assign the device to.

Create a New Group if Necessary

Create a New Group if Necessary

You can add a new device group through the Data View Management tab. Navigate to Admin > Data View Management.

  1. Search for groups and click the Groups data view.
  2. Click Preview to see the data view.

This data view shows all of the current groups. If you want to create a new group,

  1. Click New.
  1. Enter the data in the fields for the new group record.
  2. Click Save.
