How to Track Software as a Service (Saas) Applications
SaaS Applications such as Office 365 and Google Docs can be tracked. The reports in this menu contains information about the usage of these applications. This lesson goes into detail about those reports.
Overview
Clicking the menu item labeled SaaS Applications will load a dashboard that contains widgets that display:
- Tracked SaaS Application Usage Activity
- Users of SaaS Application
- Minutes of Use
SaaS Applications that can be tracked in Asset Vision include Google Docs and Office 365. Data views and dashboard widgets display the information gathered from the optimize agent. Information about setting up the predefined advanced web application definitions can be found in the Web Application Tracking lesson.
Office 365 Activity Overview
Office 365 Activity Overview loads a dashboard with widgets that display:
- Usage Minutes of Office 365
- Usage Days by Component
- Usage by Department and Region
- Artifact Edit Ratio
Office 365 Users
Office 365 Users displays a report of users that have used Office 365 Applications along with information about the number of days of usage and the number of artifacts(documents) accessed.
Office 365 Artifact Use
Artifacts Use for Office 365 Applications displays the list of documents that were accessed with Office 365 applications including the number of users and the number of full use users. The user can click the numbers under Artifact Users and Full Use Users to view the records that make up the aggregate count.
Google Apps Overview
Google Apps Overview loads a dashboard with widgets that display:
- Google Apps Adoption Trend
- Usage Days by Component
- Usage by Department and Region
Google Apps Users
The Google Apps Users data view displays the unique users for Google Apps as well as the count of usage days. Users can drill down into the count to display the individual records that are part of the aggregate.
