How to Use the Organizational Designator Field to Group Licenses

This lesson details how to use the Organizational Designator Field for a license entitlement detail record to group licenses so that they do not get calculated together for the Calculated License Position.

Organizational Designator Field
  1. Navigate to Licenses Owned > Manage Licenses > Import and Qualify.
  2. Optionally the user can add an Organizational Designator to a license entitlement detail record.

The organizational designator field allows the user to group assigned licenses by the organization that the user enters. Assigned licenses that are for the same software product but have different values for the organizational designator will not be combined in the calculated license position.

  1. Navigate to Manage > Current License Position.
  2. As mentioned in the step above, the Organizational designator will allow the licenses to be grouped or filtered in the Current License Position data view.
