How to Find Duplicate License Entitlement Detail Records

The Find Duplicates function helps find duplicate License Entitlement Detail records based on qualified data. This lesson will explain where to find this feature in License Manager and how to use it.

  1. Click the Process Licenses button at the bottom of the data view.
  2. Click Find Duplicates.

This function is useful for when a user imports license data from multiple sources, qualifies all data, but after running the License Position Calculation they realize the numbers are overstated. This function helps users find duplicate License Entitlement Detail entries and allows user to delete them.

Once the Find Duplicates process is complete, the above dialog box will give a summary of the results. Click OK to continue.

Duplicates are displayed in set for ease of management. You can navigate through each of the steps using the Previous Set and Next Set buttons at the top of the page.

  1. Previous Set navigates to the set of dups before the currently displayed set.
  2. Next Set navigates to the set of dups after the currently displayed set.

    Once a set of duplicates is loaded, you can check the dupes that you do not want (or check them all at the same time with the All Pages and This Page checkbox at the top of the checkbox column (see 3 above).
  3. Click Delete to delete the selected duplicates.

Click Yes to delete the duplicated records. The data view will reload showing only the remaining records.
