How to Qualify Licenses Automatically
This lesson provides detail on License Entitlement Detail (LED) Qualification which allows the user to review entitlements that will be processed in the License Position report. This will also help the user find entitlements that are not fully qualified that they need to add more information to. The features of the License Entitlement Detail Qualification are listed below:
Note: Only 100% qualified entitlements will be processed when generating the License Position Report.
Qualify Licenses
Navigate to License Manager > Manage > Manage Licenses > Import and Qualify.
The user should review their entitlements after they have added them to ensure that they were added correctly and that they are fully qualified with a percentage of 100. Only fully qualified entitlement records will be processed.
Pay attention to the qualification percentage next to each license record. Only 100% qualified entitlements are included license position calculations.
To automatically qualify licenses:
- Check the boxes to select the entitlements that you want to qualify.
- Click the Qualify Licenses button.
- Select Automatically.
Automated Entitlement Qualification
This popup will ask the user if they want to process the Incomplete records or All records. If the user chooses Incomplete then only the entitlements with no software product version link will be processed. If the user chooses All then all entitlement records will be processed.
The correct Licensed Product Version (LPV) will be looked up automatically. When an LPV match to the LED signature data is found then that data is also written to the local cache. These entries are written to the cache to allow for qualification of any other LED entries with a matching signature.
Automated Entitlement Qualification Results
After the process is done, a pop-up will appear presenting the results to the user. The user can then use these results to determine if they need to need to re-examine records that are unqualified. The user can navigate to Qualify Licenses > Manual to search for unqualified entitlement records.
