How to Reset and Change a User's Password
As an Asset Vision Administrator, it may be necessary at times to reset a password for other users of Asset Vision, in the case of a forgotten password, for example. The following steps will guide you through the process of resetting a password.
NOTE: Password requirements for Asset Vision Users:
- At least one Upper-Case letter
- At least one digit (0-9)
- Must be between 8 and 25 characters in length.
Navigate to User Management and Select the Desired User
NOTE: You must be logged in an AAsset Vision administrator to perform the following actions, or even see the Admin section in the Asset Vision interface.
- Click Admin, then click the User Management tab.
- Click the Asset Vision Users sub-tab.
- In the Asset Vision Users data view, click on the Edit icon (pencil) next to the user for whom the password is to be reset.
Select the Desired User
- Check the Password needs reset: checkbox. This will force the user to change the password when they first log in with their new password that you will provide to them.
- Enter a new password, created by you, into the Password (Leave blank to use previous password): field.
- Verify that the Active: checkbox is checked (it is already checked for all Active users).
- Click Save to close the Overview window, or click Apply to apply the changes and continue editing this user.
At this point, you will need to communicate the new temporary password to the user, as Asset Vision does not notify the user that the password has been reset.
